Phalange Party leader Amin Gemayel stressed on Monday the importance of dialogue and fortifying Lebanon against any political and security repercussions caused by the indictment.
He said after holding talks with Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir in Bkirki: "We hope that Arab and international efforts would help the Lebanese overcome their ordeal and we understand some fears over the indictment, but we must remember the martyrs."
He emphasized the importance of uncovering the truth in the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, adding: "There can be no settlement except on the basis of the truth."
"Any settlement besides this will not last," he noted.
Gemayel criticized the opposition by saying: "It is as if the country does not concern them and neither do the people's interests and future."
"Obstructing dialogue and boycotting Cabinet sessions is futile," he pointed out.
