Prime Minister Najib Miqati held a closed-door meeting on Wednesday with Speaker Nabih Berri to assess the parliament session that was held earlier.
He said: “We will be held accountable for every action we commit and the new cabinet has not been criticized for any procedure it has taken since it received the vote of confidence.”
He noted however that some MP statements at parliament did criticize previous governments over their handling of the security and electricity files.
Reporters pointed out to him that Minister Jebran Bassil has retained his position as Energy Minister, to which Miqati responded: “It’s true that he maintained his post, but I would like to remind people that cabinet held a meeting on Monday during which ten items on the electricity file were approved.”
“We will soon hopefully witness the results of these decisions,” stressed the premier.
