Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri’s television appearance Tuesday night is expected to set the roadmap for the opposition during the upcoming phase in Lebanon under Premier Najib Miqati’s government.
The daily An Nahar Monday reported that he will address all major issues in Lebanon, especially the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.
He will also discuss the failed negotiations with the March 8 camp and the failure of the Turkish-Qatari agreement that preceded the toppling of his government in January.
In addition, the former Premier will address the criticism directed against him over his concessions over central issues.
Moreover, Hariri will urge his followers to adopt a peaceful and democratic opposition that will avert Lebanon from falling into strife, said the daily.
Meanwhile, Mustaqbal bloc MP Jamal al-Jarrah told Voice of Lebanon radio (100.5) that Hariri’s main topic of discussion will be “accusations against him that he made concessions over the blood of martyrs in order to remain prime minister.”
He will also address the economic situation in Lebanon “because it is important for the Lebanese to be aware of the downhill road they are travelling on under this cabinet.”
Asked about whether the former prime minister may return to Lebanon, the MP responded that he has no information on the matter.
Hariri was allegedly forced to flee Lebanon after receiving threats on his life.
